If you are interested in selling your service or product to businesses across the entire country, it frequently makes sense to put together a program to make the entire sale over the phone. That doesn't mean that we call them up cold and they give us a credit card number or sign a contract
on the first call. In fact, that almost never happens. What it means is that all of the communication is by fax, email, direct mail and telephone, not face-to-face. It's faster, more efficient and more profitable than face-to-face selling. Even if you've never
been able to sell your product or service over the phone before, you may be surprised at how easy and profitable it can be.
This is the process we use to make sales over the phone for you:
The first step is to get a list of businesses that are:
- Large enough to be able to afford what you are selling
- Of the type of business that has a good chance of needing your product or service
The next step is to put together an initial script that will:
- Effectively describe what you sell
- Create desire for what you sell
- Pre-qualify the business as being in a position to benefit from what you sell
- Manage the sales process
The third step is to professionally contact every prospect to:
- Determine their level of interest in what you sell
- Gather the decision maker's contact information
- Get the answers to the pre-qualifying questions
- Confirm that purchasing the good or service is in their best interest
- Send them out the appropriate information by email, fax or mail
- Follow up to confirm they received the information and see what they thought
- Ask them to buy
- If they are not interested, find out why not
- Continue to follow up if appropriate until they buy or indicate that they are not going to buy
While we are doing all of that, we also:
- Keep track of why the prospects weren't interested
- Identify market opportunities based on the conversations we have
- Reevaluate the list and the script based on what we learn
- Track the results by:
- Type of business
- Time of day
- Day of week
- Any other variable you can think of
- As your Phone Sales campaign continues, we use this information to further refine the calling to produce even higher response rates.
We also build a list of email addresses of the decision makers, so you can send emails to the decision makers that don't have an immediate interest, but who might be interested in a few months.
